02 Oct Surreal Underwater Art Nude Photography
These photos were shot on our last night at Race and Religious, lit only by a single light at the end of the stone pool. Learning to use the underwater housing was an exercise in laughter and cooperation- the photographers passed the camera around while the models dove again and again for us, and the results are beautifully surreal images with a strong feeling of silence to them.
I have a lot to learn about underwater photography, but I hope that in learning the images don’t lose this alien grace we found on that last warm New Orleans night of exploration, friendship and art.
Since this is such a new kind of photography for me, if you’re inclined to leave a comment I’d love to hear which of these is your favourite!
